Bleeding Cool has spilled the beans, for the first time ever a comics publisher is on Kickstart in partnership with Diamond Comic Distributors!
Dirk Wood has a new project from his Portland branch of IDW, Woodworks. He is launching a brand new, quarterly, hardcover print-only “magazine” called Full Bleed: The Comics & Culture Quarterly.
Basically we’re talking “The New Comics Journal”.
And he has a novel approach to funding it on Kickstarter, while simultaneously turning to retailers.
For the first time a comics publisher is doing this in partnership with Diamond Comic Distributors, who will distribute donor rewards directly to comic book retailers in your normal shipments. And retailers will get double what they order, effectively half off what regular punters pay, close to a usual retailer wholesale price for the product they sell.
They have their own donor tiers, though you can adjust your numbers through your pledge amount and PDX:IDW/Diamond will honour that.
***Retailer Tier #1 – Full Bleed Vol. 1 – Two copies for the price of one ($25.00)
***Retailer Tier #2 – One Year Subscription – Two subscriptions for the price of one ($100.00)
